The swallows took the nest box from the bluebirds this year, and they've been defending their territory from anyone who intrudes, including much larger birds. This first image is a crow bracing for a run by a swallow. The nest box is just to the left out of frame. I set up the tray feeder with suet hoping to attract some woodpeckers this summer. So far all we've gotten is various large birds who gorge themselves all day. In order, magpie, grackle, and that crow again.
