It's almost July in Red Lodge, which means the rodeo is almost here. We are going to the bull riding tomorrow, and the rodeo on the 4th. I probably won't post dozens of rodeo images this time because they seem to have installed additional fencing and made it harder for generic people like me to get near the arena.
So far this summer, it has been all about the flickers. The male usually comes by the small birdbath a couple times a day to get a drink, but the female is a little more shy. I have dozens of DSLR images of the male, but only a few of his mate. The male has red cheeks and the female does not, so they are easy to tell apart. Maybe late in the year we will have a little flock (or whatever the correct word is) visit to get a drink. A couple years ago, caught on trailcam, three visited the bath at the same time.
The first image was taken with my old
Canon 1D Mark II #9 with a motion trigger, and the second with my new Gardepro T5CF #14 close focus trail camera. For more images, see Tom's Trailcam Central, a blog where I post more images and discuss my remote triggering equipment.
