As I was processing my recent eclipse images, I was noticing that I didn't get any really good corona shots. I'm going to assume it was not "operator error" and attribute it to the thin clouds filtering out those details. If you compare the image I took in 2017 versus the recent one, there is a dramatic difference. I got better prominences this time, but a better corona in 2017.
